Sometimes words should not be destroyed by visual imagery. Not that I am against visual communication. But words should be left alone to do what they intend to do. Words create a brilliant space of imagination that takes us to places of wonderment, sadness and love and hate and everything in between. This is where my ultimate joy lies.
The Little Joys!
My joy comes in writing and making all the excuses on the earth so I find the time to write.
Hi, I am Anugrah. I graduated in Food and Nutrition to be a Nutritionist but continued my affair with writing all along. Now I write under the name of ‘Paint My Word.’ Essentially, I want to find the time to be extremely bored. Then, when the mind is empty of any worries I find the strength to turn boredom into creativity. When words would just flow and I am into the ebb of surrealism. What then comes out is unrefined me. I make sure to polish it. Sloppy is not good. But it is me. And that is another level of joy.
Beginnings are always courageous.
I learned about Substack from Loise, who is an artist and used Substack for her newsletters (now she doesn’t). I instantly caught up with the idea and explored this medium. This was somewhere in February 2023. Almost a month now I have courageously written my first post. I do not know who will read it and to whom it will go. But this is the very first time or maybe one of the very few times in my life, I have abandoned the social weight of being judged or not liked. I am writing from the space of exploring my very own! My very core.
We are all creatives. Isn’t it?
I am learning art and trying to find that sweet space where my art and words meet. Yet I am so very sure that sometimes words should be left alone. And then they have the blatant power to create extraordinary imaginations which are unique to each one of us.
Mostly if you see me here you will see me writing willingly on life and on topics that are valuable in our ordinary spaces. Topics that make our hearts beautiful. More about the inner core! As much as I am not very sure how much will it interest you, I am hoping you will come back to read more. Since hope is a good thing. It may not be always as good as we want it to be, especially when it breaks but I will choose to believe that it is a good thing.
Who it is for?
My writing is for everyone who is a dreamer and sucker for deeper things in life.
If you have someday called yourself a classy rebel and do not like the way our world is and aspire to have a softer world around then I write for you.
The finesse of life is so much about the inner thing. And these things are essential to me and in my writing.
The outer luxuries of life can be built but the pursuit of inside luxuries is seldom sought after. They need to be nurtured. I write about them.
If you have still clung to bedtime stories, always believed in fairy tales and carry the twinkle in your eyes then I write for you.
I write for anyone who has the care of the world and finds reading like a fresh radiant wind in a stuffy room.
If you are just coming along and want to hang around with my words I write for you. All are welcome.
How much will you see me around?
As a creative, I have struggled with keeping schedules. Always.
Nevertheless, I have improved. I do not ditch people by not showing up at all. But I may disappoint people once in a while by saying I am just not in a mood. I guess creatives need to hop over to the airy side of the monotonous set routines. I do that sometimes. Surely, I will show myself here once a week because I am in the freedom of writing.
I hope you will find some meaning in my writing. I will be very glad if you would subscribe and support my work.
Till I write to you again,
Paint My Word (Anugrah)
